He writes: "Paula, as a judge, star, presence, indefinable something on this show, was vital to its success – that goes without saying – but particularly vital to that indefineable thing known as 'chemistry.' She made Simon Simon, Randy Randy. She was that extra dimension, that human, relateable element.
