Watch Letterman's 2nd apology — he says sex with staff is "in the past"
"I would just like to set the record straight: No, I am not having sex with these women," Dave said on tonight's "Late Show. "These episodes are in the past. So my apologies to subjecting them to that vulnerability and being browbeaten and humiliated." As for his relationship with his wife, Letterman says, "I've got my work cut out for me."

"If we are now holding late-night talk show hosts to the same moral accountability as we hold politicians or clergymen, I'm out," said the "Late Late" host. "I'm gone."

Letterman finally apologizes to his wife and staff
David Letterman opened his "Late Show" monologue (watch a preview) by continuing to joke about his scandal while offering a few mea culpas. Letterman said of his wife: "She has been horribly hurt by my behavior. And when something happens like that, if you hurt a person and it's your responsibility, you try to fix it. And at that point, there's only two things that can happen: either you're going to make some progress and get it fixed, or you're going to fall short and perhaps not get it fixed. So let me tell you folks, I got my work cut out for me."


"Fantasy Island" becoming a reality show

Mark Burnett is returning to his island reality TV roots in a show that has 12 contestants battle it out to live in the lap of luxury on an island.


CBS renews "Flashpoint"

Report: Letterman banned alleged extortionist from "Late Show" parties
The New York Post says that Robert Halderman started growing incensed with David Letterman years ago when he began dating Stephanie Birkitt, but wasn't allowed to attend "Late Show" staff parties with her. "He wanted Stephanie there, not Halderman — he didn't like him," a source tells The Post. Halderman reportedly started dating Stephanie earlier this decade, not long after Dave and her broke up.

Howard Stern criticizes Letterman, confirms his wife did not sleep with Dave

Stern calls his friend Dave's shenanigans a "bad, bad decision," adding that the "Late Show" host left the impression that you can "suck off the boss" to get ahead in the workplace. Stern also points out that his wife, Beth Ostrosky Stern, was working for Letterman as a "Late Show" model when they first began dating in 2000. When their relationship was revealed, Stern says Beth lost her job on "The Late Show."

Could "Big Bang" become No. 1 sitcom? (And why CBS rejected it the 1st time)
"The Big Bang Theory" already beats the No. 1 sitcom, "Two and a Half Men" in the all-important 18-49 demo, but it's inching closer to the ratings of the Charlie Sheen sitcom. “There’s a lot of ambivalence,” says Chuck Lorre, creator of both shows. “It’s ‘Yeah!’ then ‘Awww.’ But it’s all good. I can’t claim to understand how this works; I’m just thrilled that it’s working.” The ratings, though, aren't bad for a show that had to be retooled after CBS rejected it. The result was a much-improved Penny, and the casting of Kaley Cuoco to fill the roll, replacing another actress. PLUS: Howard & Raj get their epiosde tonight.
