TNT planning a "Dallas" spinoff
With a "Dallas" movie failing to get off the ground, the next generation of the Ewings are being eyed for a new series that might also feature original cast members Lidna Gray, Patrick Duffy and Larry Hagman. According to the NY Times, the show would focus on "John Ross (the offspring of J. R. and Sue Ellen, for you 'Dallas' neophytes) and Christopher (the adopted son of Bobby and Pam who, devotees will remember, is the progeny of Sue Ellen’s sister, Kristin, the famed shooter of J. R.)."

Hillary Clinton to end Conan vs. Newark mayor feud
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will help broker a truce between "The Tonight Show" and Mayor Cory Booker on tonight's show.


"Southland" canceled

Production on the NBC series, which was just filming yesterday, has been canceled after filming of six episodes of Season 2. "Dateline" will take its place on the NBC lineup. Meanwhile, the NY Times reports that CBS is not conducting an internal investigation and that inside CBS News, there is still disbelief that Robert Halderman was arrested. In fact, two of his co-workers posted the bond for his bail.

Claim: Letterman's alleged blackmailer wanted revenge, not just $2M
After Stephanie Burkitt broke up with Robert Handerman last month, the "48 Hours" producer became incensed, according to the NY Post. "This wasn't about money, not money alone," a source tells the Post. "This was revenge. It was about making Letterman miserable. He wants to hurt Letterman as much as he can — and he wanted to hurt the girl, too." Stephanie's grandma, meanwhile, said yesterday that she should never have dated Halderman. "I think she was stupid to go out with him," she said.

"It was pretty painful to practice last week," he says of the two fractures on his feet that eventually would sideline him. "Last Sunday, I could only do 30 minutes. But I knew the dance, and I wanted to see if I could dance. We took it one dance at a time and it worked out. But I also knew I couldn't go through that again. According to the Post, "Letterman and Birkitt enjoyed romantic hikes last fall at his sprawling ranch in eastern Montana — where he was married in March." She would reportedly tell her boyfriend Robert Halderman that her relationship with Letterman was just a "platonic relationship." "I'm his best friend," she reportedly said.
