"It was very difficult to convince Yoko Ono that it was the right thing to do," says Bloom. "She needed to truly understand how the music was going to be used."

The Gay and Lesbian  Alliance Against Defamation appeared to back ABC's decision to ban Lambert on Thursday. But today, GLAAD is saying that Lambert was subjected to a "double standard." GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios says: "We believe that Adam Lambert is being subjected to a double standard because he's an openly gay entertainer. Canceling his performances, past and future, are a result of that double standard."

Will Comcast dump Jeff Zucker, Conan, Leno?

Conan O'Brien is "Feelin' Comcastic"

Joss Whedon: Fox wouldn't let "Dollhouse" delve into sexuality and intimacy

His original plan was to focus on the sexuality of the "Dollhouse" encounters, but Fox was too "twitchy" about it, says Whedon, adding that "when the show turned into a thriller every week, it took something out of it that was kind of basic to what we were trying to do." But why would Fox turn down sex? "First of all," says Whedon, "network television has taken great treads backwards in terms of dealing with sexuality or the body or anything. I mean, now on cable everybody is prancing about naked and whatnot. On the networks, it’s gotten different since I was last making TV."

Jeff Probst's advice to future "Survivors": Always, always be selfless

"Whenever you are given a selfish vs. selfless choice," he writes on his "Survivor" blog, "you ALWAYS choose the selfless option. Always, always, always. Survivor is a social game. Syfy's "Alice" is a far better remake than "Tin Man"

"Tin Man," as you'll recall, was Syfy's terrible attempt at reimagining "The Wizard of Oz." "What gives Alice a slight edge," says Robert Bianco, "over its Ozian cousin is a less-heavy hand, a few brighter performances and a source better suited to a darkling outlook. Nor does it hurt that Alice, while still overextended, has two fewer hours than Tin Man. None might have been best, but less is more." PLUS: "Alice" isn't bad — it's just silly and overlong.

Watch Syfy's giant "Alice" rabbits storm NYC streets

"Monk" leaves a big mark on TV history, paving way for basic cable "arms race"
Basic cable was mostly a backwater of game shows and broadcast repeats when "Monk" launched in 2002. Yet as Scott Collins and TV historian Tim Brooks point out, "Monk's" big ratings and buzz led to the creation of other basic cable hits, from "The Closer" to "Mad Men." "Now original scripted series (both dramas and comedies) are all over the cable dial," says Brooks. "'Monk' had a lot to do, I think, with sparking that."
