Jimmy Kimmel tells the real story behind his Leno "sucker punch"
Jay Leno never wanted to discuss the late-night war when he invited Kimmel to do his "Ten @ Ten" segment, Kimmel revealed in his monologue Thursday nightas he responded to Leno's assertion to Oprah that he had been "sucker punched" by Kimmel. Turns out that Kimmel was pre-interviewed for the segment, but none of the questions even broached the subject of Conan O'Brien. Leno's producer told Kimmel he didn't want to beat the subject to death. "But what he didn't understand is, I did want to beat it to death," said Kimmel. "I like beating things to death. And so I did."
