Report: Fox close to ending "24"
This year's 8th season appears to be the last, according to Variety, which says that both Fox and 20th Century Fox TV are ready to end the Kiefer Sutherland series due to rising costs. Says Variety: "Studio and network execs declined comment — but it’s believed that the final decision will be made in the next day or two. Move is not a huge surprise, but still reps the end of an era for Fox." The end of the series doesn't mean the end of the franchise, however. Jack Bauer could be headed to the big-screen.
