Claim: Conan O'Brien dropped Max Weinberg
That's according to music legend Al Kooper, who with several of Conan's band members. "They let him go," he says of Weinberg, who hasn't appeared on Conan's nationwide tour. "This is a big transition, and they're all signing new contracts and everything so they replaced him, as far as I know." He adds that Weinberg's exit is the only change, but that "there was a lotta conflict because of Springsteen."
Jimmy Fallon is poised to host the Emmys
NBC wants the "Late Night" host over Jerry Seinfeld, Amy Poehler and the team of Tina Fey and Steve Carell. If he gets the job, Fallon will essentially be taking over for Conan O'Brien, who hosted NBC's last two Emmy Awards in 2002 and 2006.
