Oprah Winfrey explains her new nighttime talk show: "For years I’ve said to the producers, ‘Just get me out of the chairs,’” she says. “The next chapter for me is releasing myself from the studio and being tethered to those chairs." Mexican police are accusing Bruce Beresford-Redman of foul play in the death of his wife, Monica Beresford-Redman, who was reported missing Monday from a Cancun hotel.Bruce Beresford-Redman was just on local L.A. TV last night talking about the search for his wife. "I'm very hopeful someone will find my wife very soon," he told KCAL. "She still hasn't been located and we're looking."


TLC gives Kate Gosselin 2 new shows: "Kate Plus 8" and "Twist of Kate"

Oprah to tackle "Oprah's Next Chapter" on Oprah Winfrey Network
The queen of daytime is coming to primetime with her own weekly hourlong show, which would air two to three times a week. According to the Wall Street Journal, the show will take Oprah "out of the studio setting that has been her home for 25 years and follow her around the globe for conversations in places such as Egypt and China." Says Oprah: "I'm going to take viewers with me, going to take celebrities I want to interview with me" around the world.


HBO picks up Mike White's "Englightened," starring Laura Dern and Luke Wilson

"I am stoked to finally party with HBO," says White of the series, which also stars Diane Ladd. "I feel lucky to have been given this opportunity to make something original, heartfelt and weird."


"Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune" earns renewal through 2014
