"Sons of Anarchy's" Charlie Hunnam is "really happy" with Emmy snub
The "Sons" cast and creator Kurt Sutter met TV critics this morning, where they got a chance to react to their lack of Emmy recognition. "I would just like to say that actually I personally was really happy," said Hunnam. "I don’t subscribe to Emmys or awards; … I think it’s corrupting. I was happy we weren’t on the receiving end, … that could change the dynamic that we have. All of that crap I just think is secondary and completely unimportant."

FX renews "Louie," orders "Reno 911" creators' space comedy
"Louie" will return for a 2nd 13-episode season next summer, FX president John Landgraf announced this morning. He also announced the pickup of outer space comedy "USS Alabama," from the creators of "Reno 911." Landgraf also said he'll use "Sons of Anarchy" to launch "Terriers." "We set ourselves a really ambitious task this year, we picked up six new shows, four of the six have gone on the air," he said, noting, "It's like a snake digesting a goat for a cable show to premiere four new shows." PLUS: FX can only juggle 12 shows maximum at one time.

Fox explains Ellen's departure, says no new "Idol" deals have been signed
Ellen DeGeneres first approached Fox about leaving "American Idol" in early June, but the network didn't feel until last week that they were confident enough to let her go, according to Fox entertainment chairman Peter Rice. "The only thing I can tell you with absolute certainty now is no one has signed a deal who was not on Idol last year," he says, adding that he hopes to have a judging panel in place by mid-September. PLUS: Rice on Kara DioGuardi: "I'm not going to get into the speculation about it. I'm not going to do that."
