Mayor Luke Ravenstahl says of Thursday's rally: "City residents and the Steelers Nation have contacted my office asking for the city to properly thank our hometown hero for once-again shining the spotlight on Pittsburgh."

Jeff Probst signs CBS deal to host a talk show — while still doing "Survivor"
Probst's daytime talk show is set to debut in fall 2012. "I'm fascinated with human nature and thrilled that this show will allow me the opportunity to connect with real people and explore their stories on a personal level," Probst said in a statement. Adds a CBS exec: "Anyone who has seen Jeff on Survivor knows how he connects with people and has an instinct that makes him a natural and compelling host for daytime." Probst will still be able to do "Survivor" since the reality show shoots back-to-back seasons during the summer.

 

G4 will bring back Ryan Dunn's show with a special tribute
"Proving Ground" will return July 19, one month after Dunn's death and after only airing one episode. G4 is also planning a one-hour "Attack of the Show!" tribute to Dunn on that same day.


A Charlie Sheen sitcom on TBS?

According to Radar Online, Sheen has signed a lucrative sitcom deal with Lionsgate Television and TBS is the frontrunner. TBS is denying any interest in Sheen and Sheen's rep won't comment. PLUS: Looks like "Two and a Half Men" will give Charlie Harper a tragic death.

"I'll grant that because I've seen it in my own eyes," she says, "and those of a close friend currently in treatment for ovarian cancer, I'm more familiar with what the relentless, day-to-day emotional butt kicking of cancer looks like. But as a viewer, I can't help sense Linney (who is also an executive producer) and her writers striking an alienating, forever-smilin'-through-the-tears chord here."
