How Billy Crystal became Oscar host
Brian Grazer says if he ever produced the Oscars, he told Billy Crystal one year ago he'd be his first choice to host. "He might have been a little bit bruised by it," Grazer says of picking Eddie Murphy. "But my relationship with him was very clean. I just said, 'Look, I'd be thrilled if you would do this. You'll be great at it.' He said, 'Let me think about it for a day.' So he did, and he called and said, 'I’m doing it, and I’m going to tweet it out to the world.' I said, 'Go ahead!'"
